Note (manga/anime) was adapted into a
series of live-action films in 2006 “Death Note”. “Death Note L; The Last Name”
was the sequel of the first movie series, “Death Note”. Both films were
directed by Shūsuke Kaneko, and produced by Nippon Television. Films
were done by Digital

premiered in Japan on November 3, 2006. It was featured in U.S. theaters in
October 2008.
“Death Note”
is a story about a young man named Light Yagami, a genius
law student who picks up the “Death Note” and uses it to “cleanse” the world of evil. Human whose name is written in the Death Note shall die. Light named himself as Kira (taken from killer, pronounce in Japan as kira). Kira helped by Ryuuk, a shinigami who have the Death Note, and Kira would make an ideal world with justice, no evil.

L is a mysterious detective who helped the police department to reveal
the mystery of the death caused by the heart attack. L is companied by his
assistant, Watari and the team, include Soichiro, Light’s father. In the first
movie, Light has met L. Since the first time, L suspects Light as Kira, but
Light denies it. They trick each other to prove their argument, especially Light
that suspected as Kira by L.
The story continuous in this second movie, “Death Note; The Last
Name”. Light continues his plan to get rid of L. He joins the Kira Task
Force headed by L and find a chance to eliminate L. While these two rivals
busy dealing each other, Rem, a Shinigami, brings the second notebook. The
notebook that Rem bring is taken by Misa Amane, a famous model for teenagers, and
becomes Kira’s worshiper later. She accepts the offer to have the ‘eyes of the death’
which will make her able to know the name of any person without being told, as
the condition she should exchange it with her half of lifespan. There is also
third Kira, Kiyomi Takada (Nana Katase) brings Light’s Death Note and
disclosure a new rule about the book.
